One from the archives today. I had this clematis in a pot on my deck for two years, but it did not make it through this past winter. :(
That might just have something to do with the fact that I am a terrible gardener. My garden and my laundry are both run along strictly Darwinian lines -- it's survival of the fittest, baby!

Oh, Mary....me too! I so know what you mean! I just had to run to the laundry room and find some socks for hubby for work today.....I have some folding and putting away to do....but it seems I always leave it to the last minute.
Mine, too! Sorry that pretty clematis didn't make it, though.
Gorgeous color and detail.
I find it fascinating how so many of us photograph flowers like this beautiful clematis and no two photographs are ever exactly the same. I like your crisp color and detail.
That's how I run my garden also. But sometimes it really is the beautiful ones that don't make it. This is a great shot.

your former clematis, sounds like you broke up, or after you graduated you moved to different cities.
How pretty. I've wanted to grow clematis on my balcony for years, but didn't think they'd do well in a pot...will have to rethink that one. *wheels churning*
Mary,
Thanks to your great photography...your flower is gone but not forgotten..it will live on in your photos.

I love these flowers, especially when they go to seed and get all "crone" looking!
gorgeous details - sorry about the loss, I know the feeling as my herb garden bit the dust during the may rains.
What a lovely blog you have here ... such beautiful blossoms photographed and shared magnificently! It's sad to lose your Clematis but fortunate you have photo memories. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs and blessings,
