Two of my favorite things... :)

One of the few things I love about winter is the sky. The dance of bare branches against the dying light always moves me. I often wish upon a winter sky. These are the quiet days, until the earth is once again warmed and comes back to life...

OK, I know I promised you supermarket flowers... something a bit more cheery than fog... but I couldn't help myself. Truly. I just love fog. :)

This was taken at Ravine Lake, which is about ten minutes from my home. The road that leads around the lake is extremely narrow, and very rarely travelled, which is good because I think I must have stopped the car at least three times to shoot out the window. Across the lake, nestled amid those trees, is an old mansion that is reputedly haunted, and a destination for curious teenagers from all over the state.

winter in my mind

I'm not sure if this makes any sense but, in my mind, winter feels like walking into a world of fog. I can barely see the road ahead, and I'm surrounded by... well... nothingness. I'm wandering in the wilderness until the first shoots of spring appear.

OK, are you depressed yet? lol Sorry. I promise to get some supermarket flowers and post something cheerier soon. :)

when the world is too much with us...

(With apologies to William Wordsworth)... but sometimes I just wish I could lose myself in a world of color and softness...

peace on earth

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock at night. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
