the world made new

from my archives, newly edited

If you have been coming here for awhile, you will know that I love a good mist. I love how it transforms the landscape into something mysterious and unrecognizable. What was clear and delineated becomes shadowed and ghost-like, as if it were wrapped in cotton wool. Sounds are muffled, and the air is soft with moisture. It seems to me to be a kind of magic on a grand scale -- the world made new and soft and mysterious, if only for a little while. :)

Yes, Mary! I love that about fog, too. It makes me feel like I'm the only one in the world and it's just for me. =]

Smiling thoughts to you...

Absolutely gorgeous...yes, there is something so calming and soothing about mist/fog photos. When you look at them, you feel as if you're wrapped in a cocoon.
