curling

It promises to be sunny and warm (relatively speaking) here today, so maybe I will get out and shoot something besides calla lilies. :)

In the meantime, here is my latest offering. I love that little curling petal...

Have a wonderful day, dear bloggers!

Mary, this is absolutely beautiful! The illumination of the inside of the lily is what draws your eye, front and center. Gorgeous.

To answer your question about my metering... I don't have a handheld meter, so I used reflective metering. I had the metering set to spot meter, but probably should have gone with the matrix metering that Nikon offers. Sometimes I forget to switch it back. Do you use an incident meter?

Whatever you use, it works well!

Such nice softness Mary...

Wendy, I use an incident meter for portraits, but tend to use the Nikon matrix metering for everything else. I use exposure compensation in backlit situations, too. :)
