this cold light

It's funny how inspiration strikes... last summer I was fascinated by queen anne's lace. I shot and edited them for weeks at a time. Now I seem to be drawn to sticks and seeds -- the architectural framework and the promise of spring's delights. They exist in this cold light, waiting for their time in the sun.

i think it's why i love trees so much this time of year - i love watching how the sun hits the branches showing their shapes and shadows.

beautiful shot

Just beautiful! I was trying to work on some, yesterday, too. I think that I was too focussed on seeing if I could catch a chickadee or not. When I got back to edit, I realized just how beautiful it had been and have been wishing I'd spent more time. I felt it but didn't see it. =]

What I am meaning to say is, seeing this shot, it's making me kick myself a wee bit!

Katy -- I'm usually more of a light-chaser than a bird chaser... but yesterday morning while walking in the park, I spotted a pair of pileated woodpeckers and I was kicking myself that I didn't have my camera with me!
