November Sunset

I thought I would take a respite from the mist pictures today. This was the sunset on Friday night, as seen from our backyard. My husband called from work to tell me to look at the sunset. And as I started to shoot all the pretty colors, a group of Canada geese flew across the sky. When I was little, the sound of these geese always drew us from the house to watch and wave them on their way south. They were truly harbingers of the coming season. Now they seem to live here year round, but I still love to hear them as they make their stately progress across the autumn sky.

The geese added the perfect touch. I also think it's sweet that your husband called you to tell you to look outside . . .

Gorgeous..and so very November. There is something rather beautiful about the bareness of the trees.

Blissful and magical. Lucky you to have a husband so tuned in to our world, who recognizes that you would want to see (and record) this moment in time.

It sure is true about the Canada geese...when I was young they were unusual to see...now they have overtaken the ponds and the golf courses in this area. Still, I find that I never have the camera ready as they fly overhead...Great shot!

Mary, what an incredible shot! Clouds, and silhouettes, and geese, oh, my! I don't remember seeing the geese flying over, until we moved to the suburbs, 28 years ago! Then I would run out to the yard every time I heard them. And now I still have to stop and watch them...
