Whenever I drive over a small bridge (and there are many in my neck of the woods) I love to look upstream. I'm not sure what draws me to this type of scene. I do love the sense of calm and security that comes with the slowly moving water and the overhanging trees. Or maybe it is just the converging lines of perspective -- the vanishing point that beckons. :)

Send this NOW to PW's landscape assignment. This is awesome.
I've always enjoyed nature photos ...
just beautiful
For me it's the colors and tones - it just says, "breathe and relax" to me.
it is so peaceful
Green, verdant, peaceful, all words that come to me as I look at this...
Everything is so lush and green. Beautiful!!!

gorgeous. it's the vanishing point that i love. such a peaceful photo.
This one makes my heart skip a beat! I'm so sorry it's been so long since I've visited ~ I've missed soooooo much!
I love looking upstream, too. I asked Tom, why, once. He said that the ripples are different upstream than down. Now why is that again....? OH! uphill verses down - looking slightly up, we can see them better and something else. Sorry, I'm waffling.
I feel the same way. I love crossing the Connecticut river for the same reason although it's on a much grander scale. It is a landscape with emotion for me. I feel the same way about paths - they draw me on and make my heart beat - even if I know where they lead.
