My husband always reminds me to look up when we walk and I have my camera in hand. There are some giant sycamore trees at our favorite park, and they are beautiful against the sky in winter.
I think I will take this theme for 2010 -- always look up. Broadening my horizons a little. Learning new things. Reaching for the sky.
Happy 2010, dear bloggers. :)

I'm with you on that one Mary, you have to look up, and don't forget to look behind you too! Nice shot and I like the texture. It always adds a little something extra.
I hope to learn much more about photography (and my camera) in 2010.
Look up and look closely. There are always treasures to see.
Happy New Year and may this be the best one yet.
I love when the people we love point out the beauty all around us. Don't you?
I also love sycamores. They're my favorite tree.
Fabulous quote and image. Love that color blue!
Mary,
Good motto for the new year. I'm always watching the skies. The Lord gave me what I call "windows to heaven" a few years ago. I photograph them. My blog headline photo is of a window to heaven. They are these bright holes in the darkened skies where light shines thru. I'd never see them, If I wasn't looking up!
Anticipating viewing soem photos from a higher vantage point in 2010. You are an awesome photographer, a camera in the hand of God.
I ADORE tree shots! The pattern of trees mimics so many other patters in life.
what a pretty shot. I love looking up at the trees and the sky beyond. I grew up in a place up on the plains that had no trees so now that I have them I am so thankful for them and love looking up at them. Great take on life too!

i love tree branches against the crisp blue sky...just lovely.
I love to look up at the twisted branches against the bright blue of the sky. Last night I was standing outside on the deck, looking at the full moon through some of those same branches. Enjoyed just staring at it.

I am blessed with Carolina Blue skies here..so very bright and sparkling...thank you for sharing...smiles.
Magnifico, Mary....really a special picture; the little balls on the branches are just a lovely "decoration" and seeing a glimpse of fabulous "blue sky"..!
Have a wonderful happy day!
ciao ciao elvira
LOVE this one, Mary. I am always fascinated by the structure of trees and you've really got the detail here. Your theme for the year is fabulous – embracive but simple and doable. It's a philosophical as well as practical way to look at the world. Good luck and Happy New Year to you, too! :) – g
