Skywatch Friday: I Love Sunsets

My kitchen window faces west, so I get to enjoy autumn sunsets while cooking dinner. There are lots of trees on the horizon that get in the way, though. So when I see the beginning of the show, I grab my camera and run upstairs where I can shoot through a window in the hallway.

Dinner tends to be a little late at our house. ;)

Please visit Skywatch Friday for terrific images from all over the world.

This is gorgeous!! I love the contrail pointing straight down, and the sun being right at the edge of the photo! Unexpected, and therefore makes you look at the photo longer!!

What a beautiful shot! That's my favorite time of night when the bright sunset is in the bottom edges of the western horizon and the beautiful mosaic of blues brightens and then dims to darkness in the east! What a beautiful capture... and gorgeous fire reds in the sky. How lucky that your kitchen window faces west!

Indescribably lovely. And I got it in the musical rotation with a very appealing cover of my favorite Sandy Denny song, Who Know Where the TIme Goes. Perfect!

I'm the same way! I watch the sky develope and keep the camera handy just in case I have to run down to the beach.

A very pretty sunset. It is amazing how many different sunsets you can see. A lot have been shown on Sky Watch, but hardly any two alike. Very nicely done.

Beautiful picture. And even from your house window. Great shot.

The trees are beautiful and delicate against the brilliance of the sunset.

Fire in the sky, great shot.
You call yourself a reluctant housewife. I call myself and indeferent houskeeper. I'd rather be in the garden, on my bike or off for a walk or hike with my camera. There are so many interesting things to do.

It's all about priorities, and sunsets (especially like this) definitely take precedence over dinner!
