I'm in a black and white mood today. Maybe it's a reaction against all the excess of the season, and the season to come. Or maybe I'm just feeling spare today. Anyway, here is one of my dahlias, in black and white. :)

i find this time of year daunting. so much expectation coming into the holiday season and i find that so many people feel pressure to achieve excesses. beautiful shot.
Ooo I agree! the whole world seems intent on Red and Green...enough...love the black....and white as well...do you ever shoot film anymore? I have a stash that I take out on special occasions...smiles...

The textures in this photo does particularly well in B&W I think...The day after a holiday is always my favorite time....I rest and do nothing!

Even without color, the grace of the flower comes through. And that's kind of a good thing to remember, now that I think about it.
