I Went to the Woods

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

-Henry David Thoreau

Such a very beautiful photograph. And I think I'm going to have to write that quotation down - I like it so much.

You make me think I ought to re-read Thoreau. It's been so long, it would be almost like the first time, I'm sure. The woods you have here is so inviting!

I like the way the leaf-littered path diverges and showcases that one small, perfect tree. Lovely fall composition.

how said it would be to discover that you had not lived ...this is a beautiful choice of quotation to go with the photograph.

It is a beautiful wooded spot. I bet watching the transformation to fall color is just wonderful.
