We don't have one of those lawns where every blade of grass is like every other. In fact, we don't really have a lawn at all. It's more like a field that has been mowed pretty continuously since the early 60's. And that's what makes it fascinating when you get down on your hands and knees and look through the macro lens. :)

it's amazing whats in the lawn, isn't it? reminds me that we will be working in the yard this evening :)
i have never gotten used to the lawns here in virginia...nothing like my beautiful one in california. alas...
Incredible, I don't know why people want so called perfectly manicured lawns anyway, perfection to me is what nature produces naturally.
How pretty! That is such a delicate mushroom with the crenelated edges. It looks like a ballerina's tutu.
Just like the one I grew up with! (I think that they are more interesting, don't you?)
Oops, let me clarify, I'm referring to the faux lawns. The photo is wonderful as always.
delicate beauty
Aaaaah..my favorite. I absolutely love photographing mushrooms.
Did you see any fairies under those caps? :-) Lovely.
My husband once heard these lawns labelled 'freedom lawns' and he's happily mowed our freedom lawn for years marvelling in the variety of different growing things.
Just love this shot!
Bravo! I myself would not one of those golf-green perfect lawns. I much prefer the whatever-blows-in-and-grows approach. Pretty little fungus-y toadstool thing, too.
What a wonderful little mushroom - it looks like it could start to dance any second.
Oh, be still my heart! I love a good mushroom capture. And this one is beautiful, Mary!
