In the Pink

I seem to be fascinated by the tiny flowers of the spirea bush. I love the different shades of pink, and the extra long pistils.

OK, I forget again -- which are the stamen and which are the pistils?

great shot. I love these flowers.

the stamen are the ones that have the pollen on them - the pistils have an opening if you look really close (they are also typically centered in the bloom)

beautiful color

Mary, that plant is gorgeous. Can you find out the specific name of it? I would love to identify it to see if I can grow it here in N FL. We can grow some spireas but I have never seen that one.

Also, I would love to know what kind of camera you use. You always have such sharp, true color photos. I am in the hunt for a new camera, and was just wondering. You can email me your answer if you like, it is on my webpage. Thank you.
