Flowering quince is one of our dependable spring bloomers here. I don't see a lot of it in the newer developments, but around the older houses it shows it's cheerful blossoms every spring. It actually thrives on my special type of gardening, which consists almost entirely of benign neglect. ;) I always cut a few branches to force for Easter. This year, it's blooming outside at the same time. Wishing you all a happy Monday, dear bloggers.

I love this plant as well. It's so cheery. Did you know that you can make a quince jelly?

I have not thought of quince in years!! Thanks for the memories!
And thanks, too, for the flower! I had never even thought about what colour the flowers must be! Only the fruits and the jelly!
I love the vibrant colour!
that's my kind of plant, I'm not much of a green thumb, tend to stick to the ones that say you can't kill them, that makes it a kind of a challenge for me :)
Hmmm...they make nice ornimentals, I actually put one in my garden in my first house.
A beautiful color, doesn't compare to anything I've seen!
I've never seen flowering quince. What a pretty colour and shape. Truly a lovely way to usher in spring.
just beautiful - we had one of these in the backyard when I was growing up.
Breathakingly lovely!
A beautiful and dainty bloom. It is such a pretty color.
I've been lurking at your lovely site for quite some time. I was recently awarded a "brilliant" award so I am giving it to you also. Please visit my site. Such beautiful art you create.
Wish I had some of this beauty! Lovely color, too.
mary that is beautiful it amazes me
wow, that is so pretty. I can hardly wait for our trees and shrubs to begin to form buds and open. Too cold up here for fruit but we do get lilacs and elderberry.
