Skywatch Friday: Autumn Moon

These pictures always seem to appear when I'm driving my daughter to school.  I hurried to drop her off, so I could come back to this spot, park and shoot.  I just think I deserve some props for not stopping when I first saw it, and telling her to get out and walk the rest of the way.  I'm just sayin'.  ;)

Take a few minutes to visit Skywatch Friday, and view some extraordinary sky shots from all over the world.

Very beautiful !! and you have shown character by not stopping right away :-)

A beautiful shot!

As for making her walk... I'm all for that, except she might not be so accommodating for future sky pictures! If she's like my kids, she tells me when I should go take a picture of the sky. Walking may put a damper on that!

I think this is my favorite Skywatch Friday post so far. So pretty. Love the blue sky with those beautiful trees. And the moon - wonderful!

Autumn's moon
has mystery as no other.
She paints her settingroom
in lavish colors of palette earth
for the long sleep
of winter's refreshment.

You're funny, Mary! I think you definitely deserve a gold star for your forehead, though. After all, isn't capturing the perfect photo most important? OK, I admit I'm just kidding...or not.

Unusual and beautiful picture!

Yes, that was very admirable of you to make sure your daughter was safely deposited at school before going back for your shot. She didn't get hurt when you pushed her out of the car did she...?

Just kidding. ;o)

I enjoyed your narrative about how you took the photo as much as the photo itself. That moon seems to be whispering November.

Lovely shot.
And I like the warm russet tones of the tree line.

That is a lovely shot. I had to laugh about you not making your daughter walk the rest of the way to school. You showed great consideration and still got your shot.

Nice photo, goes to prove nature puts up beautiful things all around us everyday, the tricky part is to see them and be ready with a camera.

Thanks for sharing with sky watch friday and your kind comments on my blog earlier.

You DO deserve props - I think with school close enough that a walk would have done your daughter good! But the shot you got is amazing. I also love your fall leaf pictures - how perfectly captured! Thanks for stopping by my misty morning!
