Milkweed

"The milkweed pods are breaking,
And the bits of silken down
Float off upon the autumn breeze
Across the meadows brown."

This photo made me smile. It's so fluffy and made me think of those chinese dogs with no hair, just tufts of fur on their head & tail.

Milkweed so gracefully slips through my fingers, one of those sudden pleasures, shockingly transient. This image captures this quite perfectly.

oh, i LOVE it!! for some reason, i have always loved milkweed fluff... is it the soft silky white 'wings' or the little brown parachutist floating around on those wings? great photo!

You have captured autumn so perfectly. You should begin collecting images for a book!
