The Little Busy Bee

"How doth the little busy bee
Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every opening flower!"
                                                            Isaac Watts

Watts lived from 1674 to 1748, and is often referred to as the "Father of English Hymnody."  He composed many popular hymns which still remain in active use today.  There is a charming story about his childhood propensity for rhyming in his Wikipedia entry, found here.

Wishing you all a weekend filled with shining hours!  :)

Great poem, neat shot. I have been seeing and trying to photograph lots of bees lately too :)

I love the soft light in that photo!

Thistle flowers look so soft and fluffy! Lucky bees are small enough to enjoy gathering pollen in them ;-)

I like this and the feeling that I have been invited into a private world!

I've never found it easy photographing bees - well done.
