Autumn Crocus

I can't believe I actually grew these in my garden.  Of course, I can't really take any credit for them.  All I did was plant them, and then forget them.  Literally.  I did not remember they were there, and was very surprised when they popped up this fall.  :)

Unexpected gifts for no reason are the absolute Best kind. Crocuses always strike me as a cheerful flower with a hint of grace. Like pastel coloured ribbons on a party dress.

this is a great capture! i have cyclamen that come popping up all over in the fall and they are such a sweet surprise because they have no summer foliage that signals their coming bloom. i wonder of a garden delight, unanticipated bloom!

Mary, these are exquisite! Such a surprise, too, in September.

I've neglected my yard. I'm so encourage to go out there and do the right thing - grow more, tend more and take more photos. :-)
