Skywatch Friday: A Winter Sunset

This shot is SOOC, taken last Saturday from an upstairs window in my house.  It was such an amazing sunset -- I must have taken over 30 photos, and had a hard time choosing just one for this post.  I have to thank my husband for alerting me to this photo opportunity.  Very often, he is the one who calls me to ask "Are you taking pictures of the sunset?"  :)

Please visit Skywatch Friday to see amazing sky views from all over the world.

Such a stunning photo! If I had a sun rise as beautiful as the every morning when I woke up I would be an early bird just to see that beauty!

Bwahahaha! I LOVE your words, Mary. Your husband sounds a LOT like mine. ;-)

Beautiful sunset and that's for sure.

By the way, I downloaded the file you suggested but when I tried to open it, it said I couldn't. I'm missing something to do with a CPU. Oh well, my computer is three years old so still back in the dark ages. (How did it get so old so fast?)

You gotta love it when the family is making sure we're getting the great sky pictures! Your husband knows his stuff! Glad you captured this gem.

What a really neat looking shot. Only thing I can see from my window is the tree in the front yard. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. =)

Lovely shot! I'd say the window was placed in just the right spot.

Wow! That is beautiful. You must be married to a romantic. Cool that he would scout photo ops for you.

After all the ribbing I took for B and the crow picture, it is good to see that the shoe can be on the other foot.

Nice picture! : )

I like it when husbands remind us to do the things we love.

Hi Mary. I'm a photography philistine - what does SOOC stand for?

I love the way the sun tricks you into feeling warm until you see the bare trees and remember its still mid winter there.

The contrails and clouds add to the beauty of this sunset. Great photo!

Hi Delwyn,
I'm sorry! SOOC stands for Straight Out Of the Camera. I did not make any adjustments to color or contrast, etc.
